April 9: Tri-meet and Varsity Invite Info for this week

​Wednesday 4/12 - Alta, Skyridge, @ Provo - Start time 3:30
​* Athletes are excused from class at 1:45
​*This will be a timed meet on Runnercard

High jump will start at 4'4 and go up until everyone has jumped.

March 30: Spring Break Workouts
Do at least 3 workouts -- space the hard workouts when possible with a day of rest between. That
means you could do them Mon-Wed-Fri  or tues-thurs-sat or mon-wed-sat or whatever combination you want. I have listed bonus workouts on the easy days if you feel so inclined. 

Monday
Landon/ZackA -- 2 x (4 x 200) @ 13-14 w/ rest of 2 1/2, 2, 1 1/2  -- 5-6 between sets
Elison/Gallman/Wimmer/300 hurdlers -- 2x(3x200) @ 28-30 w/ 2-5 rest
100/200 group: 3x200 @ 13-14 w/ 2 min rest, then 3 x 150 @ 13 (18-19 total time)

Tuesday
2 lap jog, warmup routine
8 x 100m strides (barefoot if there is a turf field) with 1 min rests
6 x 20m starts starting from a prone position (lying on your stomach)

Wednesday
6 x 120 w/ full recovery, in spikes

Thursday
4 laps, "sprint" the straight jog the turn (jog, not walk) -- by sprint I mean 18-20 secs per 100
4 x 100m strides on grass

Friday or Saturday
3-4 x 40-60-80, all out, in spikes

March 29th:
Wow! Awesome job to all of our athletes that competed in the Tri-Meet today at Timpanogos High School. Results are posted on the Results Page!  Get some rest, do your homework and we will see you at practice tomorrow! Go Hawks!

​Parents if you have pictures from the meet, I would love to have them, so I can begin to get the end of year slideshow put together.


March 28th:

Region Meet info for Wednesday 3/29:

1. Students are checked out of class at 1:30 pm
2. Students need to be in their uniforms and on the soccer field for team pictures at 1:50
3. Students will ride the bus TO & FROM the meet unless there is prior approval from Coach Heffner
4. Athletes need to bring jackets, blankets, homework, snacks, water etc. We will be at the meet for several hours.
5. The Meet is at Timpanogas High School in Orem.
​6. Parents of you are going to be attending the meet, please do not park on the driver's ed range. They will have drives going on and they informed me they will tow your car.

March 20:
Congratulations go out to the following Track athletes:


Landon Maxfield won the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Alpha Invitational this past Saturday. Landon set a school record in the 100 of 10.83 seconds. He also teamed with Zach Alsop, London Rockwood and Josh Davis to win the 4 by 100 meter relay with the fastest time in the state. They are all qualified to go to the State Competition in May. On the girl’s side, Abbie Packard had the day's best showing with a third-place finish in the long jump.

March 13:
There is no Track Meet at Corner Canyon High School this week. This meet was cancelled. We will have a regularly scheduled practice.



Official Track Practice will begin Thursday, February 23 at 3pm.
Athletes need to arrive on time, dressed for the weather, with a water bottle, READY TO GO!


Register My Athlete

You need to submit your paperwork online via Register My Athlete.

Eligibility

Students are REQUIRED to have a 2.0 and no more than 1 “F” in any class. Grades are verified by the Alta High Athletic Director.

Additional Paperwork

Athletes and parents will also need to complete and return the Team Rules Packet along their Spirit pack sizing form to Coach Heffner in room 1210 by February 28th.
